What the Museum offers to group charter visits
A charter visit/private event to the Tramway Museum offers your group the chance to visit on a day or time when the Museum is not usually open. It also means that you would receive the undivided attention of our staff for the entirety of your visit.
We offer tram rides on our restored trams and a guided tour of our museum with one of our volunteers sharing their wealth of knowledge. We Also offer souvenirs in our entrance building/bookshop.
Group Charter Visits cost $7.00 per person ($9 if tea/coffee required) – minimum charge is $160
What the Museum offers to school visits
We welcome school group visits as we can demonstrate an important part of Adelaide’s transport history. Our guided tour offers a commentary describing changing living conditions, pace of life, travel patterns and community attitudes reflected in the 130 years of tramway operation in Adelaide.
How much time do we need?
We recommend 2 hours for a visit to allow for introduction, tram rides, guided tours plus any required rests/breaks
How much will it cost?
$7.00 per student, teachers/supervisors free.
Minimum charge $150.00 (equivalent of 25 children).
How many children can visit?
We can accommodate up to 60 people in one Tram. It would be useful for you to have these groups planned before your arrival.
When can we visit?
Any week days during school term. Suitable arrival times are 10.00am to 2.30pm, but times can be negotiated.
Vacation Care groups can come any week-day of school holidays as negotiated when making arrangements.
